About Me

Hi! My name is Kaitlyn Zwerling, I'm a sophomore at Loyola University Maryland, a biopsychology major hoping to work with children, and a lover of photography and writing. I started writing for pleasure back in high school, when I underwent a difficult transition: friendships coming and going, and being diagnose with anxiety and depression. I was recommended my a counselor to keep a journal and write about myself: what I did during the day, how I was feeling at the moment, or get my mind off of things that were going on around me. I am an extremely shy, guarded individual when it comes to my feelings and emotions, and often times I get overshadowed by others, and my voice never gets heard.

Over the past few years, I have experienced many downfalls, but also a lot of triumphs and successes.  I have grown tremendously in my self-confidence, values, and leadership roles while at school. I take pride in my work: whether it be my appearance with how I dress or do my hair and makeup, schoolwork, social relationships, and my writing. My goal is to inspire and hopefully touch other young individuals the importance of self-care, positivity, and optimism. Every individual is unique and beautiful: you might not realize it now, but in due time you shall. Find out your interests and talents; embrace them, pursue them, value and cherish all the wonderful qualities you possess, then take the next time and show others how beautiful you truly are. The world can be a dark, ugly place: but I refuse to succumb to the majority who believe life is worthless: everyone was put on this earth for a reason; there is value in all of us, whether you know what that is or not, you're destined for greatness, and I wake up everyday with a smile, eager for the day ahead and the rest of my life :)

xoxo Kaitlyn
